Saturday was a looong day.

It started out good with me making the best french toast ever. Then Jared and I headed on over to the Hickory Hops Festival. Every year, a bunch of us volunteer to work a four hour shift at the festival in exchange for free beer! All day! Usually it's pretty laid back and I am able to still get my drink on while I'm working. Not this year! It was so busy I couldn't sit down! And, some mean old lady made me cry a little (what is it with mean old people making me cry?). Anywho, once I was done, I got my little drink on with my Jared:

Katie, Daniel, and several other friends were there too and we drank the most delicious beer ever (which also happens to be a pirate beer) called "Holy Sheet" by Heavy Seas Brewing Company.
The guy in my picture is the same guy as in the picture on the web page.

Around 6:00 Jared and I decided to go home and nap for a bit. We're old, ya know. Then at 9, I went to karaoke! I wasn't going to go, due to the fact that I was TIRED. But I figured what the hell. It was fun, and thanks to my brilliant Harry Belafonte impression, Beef O' Brady's in Hickory had it's first ever Congo Line. Check out the pics at HKYnights.com.

Collection #14: Shoes.

I LOVE shoes. Everytime I buy a new pair of shoes, I want to treat them like a baby. I want to wear them everywhere... I love cute shoes. I love pretty shoes. Sometimes I love ugly shoes. I really really love cute cheap shoes. As much of a shoe lover as I am, I still refuse to spend more than $30.00 on one pair. I would really like a pair of Rainbow Flip Flops, but I don't want to pay $40 for a pair of flip flops. I try to limit myself to only buying around 6 pairs a year. But if I find a good deal, it's on. On like Donkey Kong. I have some pairs of shoes that I've had since high school. When I went to my mom's house 2 weeks ago, I found a pair of shoes in the closet that my mom had bought me to wear to my 8th grade end of year band concert. I only wore them that once and then put them back in the box. Guess what? They still fit. And they are awesome. Some of my cool Converse One-Stars still fit, too. I still have my senior prom shoes. Pretty shoes just make me feel good inside.

These are my favorite shoes, which I bought last year at JC Penny's (for $18.00-75%off!!!):

By the way, don't look at this in large size. You'll see my serious need of a pedicure.

Most of my shoes (which I laid out all pretty for ya:
LOTS of shoes

You know what I don't get? How can boys live with only 4 or 5 pairs of shoes?

Doesn't make sense.

Collection #12: Hats

This is by far my favorite collection. Hats make me happy. The best place to find yummy hats is thrift stores. I have a lot, and I love them all. Why? Hats are like a mini disguise that doesn't take much effort. You can say so many things with different hats. I took pictures of myself wearing all my favorites, and the facial expressions just wrote themselves. That's what makes hats great.

Let's see if this thinggy works:

Great things that happened this weekend:

Friday night: It was busy at the Brush, in a good way! I was even offered a job by the manager of another restaurant who is looking for a "good bartender". When I told him I was flattered but that I couldn't leave just yet, he asked if there were any other bartenders at the Brush. I told him about Sam (the girl who started the rumors), he said "yea I've seen her. I guess I'll just look somewhere else." Ha! That means he thought I was better than her :D

Saturday: The Apps beat Northern Arizona, and are now 3-0. Woo! I spy a 3-peat! Too bad I wasn't there. It was Carmen's birthday, and we had some cooking out and partying to do. I made a few of the loveliest layered shots you've ever seen. I tried a Yosef (or as they call it, a "Black Gold") which is Jagermeister and Goldschlagger. It was.. well.. gross. Oh well. I only had about 4 drinks anyways but that was definitely the strongest!

Sunday: My Buccaneers finally won a game. For the first time in years, they actually DOMINATED the game. Of course, for some strange reason they let the Saints score twice in the second half, but they still won 31 to 14. WOO HOO!

Oh and of course the most awesome thing of all, it's finally getting cold again!! It was 60 degrees at 11:00 on Saturday night! Yay! That's when I get happy!

Let's hope the rest of this week is just as nice.

It's good to be in a great mood.
