It's my favorite holiday again, and I'm celebrating it by working!
Last night, Jared and I carved a pumpkin, and it's so pretty, I took a picture to share:
This past weekend was my friend Brad's annual costume party in Durham. The first year I went as The Statue of Liberty. The Next year I was a pirate (cop out, I know). Last year I was pregnant Britney Spears. This year, I was a flasher. That's right, a flasher. It was an adult party, so I figured, why not? My mother had the same costume idea when she was my age too. Perverted women run in my family. I'm not that perverted. I just know how to have fun. Anywho, here's a picture of me in my costume, showing it to James Taylor, who is dressed as Buddy Christ. I edited it, for the kiddies.
Tomorrow is the first day of November, and the first day of National Blog Posting Month, or NaBloPoMo! So I'm going to be blogging every day for the next 30 days (Supposedly).

Rain, rain go away. Well, I guess maybe not..
So, yay rain and all. It's been raining all week. Which is good. For those of you not in the South, (Okay, the one of you) North Carolina (and other South Eastern states) has been in a serious drought this year. Worst drought this century apparently. The lakes are down to the point of having to ban boating.
When we all woke up Monday morning and it was raining, there was a collective sigh of relief all over the area. Then, it kept raining. And it's still raining. The only problem is, it's also coldish. And it's mostly just drizzly rain. We still need it to rain for like a month. Hard rain. Then, it may replenish some things.

My father is convinced it's the beginning of another mini ice age. But then again, he doesn't believe in global warming. And hey, he's one of the smartest guys I know. So I guess it could happen. We'll all find out one day.
I guess the point of this post is just to say that rain makes me really sleepy and when I'm really sleepy, I'm kind of incoherent. Sorry.

What Have I Done?
I've decided to do something totally outrageous, just because I can. I'm going to take the idea from Southern Suburbia, and join NaBloPoMo. November is National Blog Posting Month. I'm going to blog every day in the month of November. Hopefully.
I wasn't going to do this because I'm just not creative enough to come up with something to blog about for 30 days in a row. But one idea they give you is to come up with a theme.
Last night as I was taking a shower, I thought of a blog idea. I thought, "I could write about all the random things I collect, and show pictures of them". Then, I realized I collect a LOT of things. This would be, like, the biggest post ever. Then, I thought, "I could break it up some". It suddenly occurred to me that this might be a great idea to use for NaBloPoMo. Do I really collect 30 different things? I don't think so, but I'm willing to try and see.. Wish me luck!! And read my blog every single day in November. Or suffer. It may be different times of day. And this is all assuming, of course, that I'm going to have Internet access every day.
So, anyways, here goes nothing. Yippie Kay Yai!
You can look at my NaBloPoMo profile by clicking the badge thinggy to the right (below my archive). All the posts will be here though. Hey, you should join too. And be my friend.

After Vacuuming...
My Cats HATE it when I vacuum. They always run either upstairs or downstairs depending on where I am. Yesterday I vacuumed upstairs so they ran downstairs. Then, I vacuumed down the stairs and from the front to the back on the bottom floor. They had nowhere left to hide, I thought. When I was finished, I wondered.. where are the boys hiding? Then, I went into the kitchen to find some grub. Found this:

In Honor of Black Saturday.
Tomorrow is Black Saturday at the Rock (a.k.a. Kidd Brewer Stadium) in Boone, NC. All of the fans are encouraged to wear all black. I bet we can pull it off. If we win (pssh... if.. ha!) we will be continuing with the longest home game winning streak in the country. That's hot (HOT!HOT!HOT!) to be exact. I can't be there in person, but I'll be there in spirit! Here are some pretty pictures to get me going.
And.. you know.. the layout.. :)

bad.. soooooooo bad...
Now, I have nothing against Van Halen.
But seriously, boss in Hickory and boss in Lenoir. It's been 2 weeks since you went to see them perform in Greensboro. It's been 20 years since they were cool to anyone younger than you. Must we listen to them all day, every day? Must I hear them muffled slightly, yet very audible, coming from your office every day? Must I want to poke my eardrums out with a fork? I understand you want to relive every moment from when you were 20 and you had your awesome mullet and you had every Van Halen cassette. I get it. I was cooler when I was 20 too. But you don't see me going around listening to "island music" anymore and forcing my coworkers to listen to Bloodhound Gang. I was a better drinker back then, too. Does that mean I should start drinking at work? Should I try to find a video on youtube of that concert I went to that totally rocked?

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Sorry I've been absent for a few days.. Every other Monday now I will be in a different town doing outside work and won't be able to blog. This past Monday I was there, only until 10:00 when I had to leave. Turns out my body didn't want to GPS outside so I got a mad headache and had to throw up a few times. Oh and? and! I also had cramps. So it's not morning sickness (to all of you bad thought sender-overs!)
It's okay though because I had a pretty good weekend. Saturday I worked, but I made a lot of $$. Sunday my mom and brother came to visit and brought me a new desk! AND helped me move my newer entertainment center downstairs, since I sold my old one. Yes! to downsizing! And then I went to watch the Bucs play and they won! woot!
My mother also brought me another thing you might find amusing. This picture shows another reason why I love Halloween. My mother loves Halloween. She's dressed me up since I was a wee kid. Here's a picture of me from my 3rd Halloween:
Cyndi Lauper, eat your heart out.

pillow talk
The other night as we're laying down to go to sleep, I give Jared a back rub because I'm nice like that. Then, he says:
"Thank you for being a friend."
Me: "Traveled down that road and back agaaaiiin."
"You're such a Golden Girl. You would be the slutty one. Blanche."
Me: "Blanche Devereaux? Can you name all of their names?"
"I know all of their real names. Rue McClanahan, Betty White, Estelle Getty and Bea Arthur."
Me: "You are so gay. Okay, what about their names on the show? Other than Blanche."
"Let's see, Blanche, Dorothy, uh... the one that talked about St. Olaf.."
Me: "Rose! But what was the old lady's name?"
"Which one!?"
Hmm.. Jared scares me sometimes. But then again, his mother and sister love that show. Maybe that's it. I hope.

The Youth of Allison.
This picture pretty much details what I was like from age 11 to age 16. Complete wannabe hippy. I was convinced that I was born in the wrong decade. You know that whole bell bottom fad that started around 1994? Yea, that was me. I started it. I was the first one at my middle school. I broke out my dad's old navy uniforms and wore the pants to school. The jeans in the picture were my Dad's many years ago. I wore flannels, tye-dyes, head bands, round sunglasses, converse, Beatles shirts.. pretty much any cliche hippy garb and I had it on. I would draw flowers, happy faces, hearts and peace signs on all my notebooks. I seriously tried to come up with ways to bring world peace. I used to lie awake at night and imagine how much happier I would be if I had been born into the hippy era.
I've got nothing but love and respect for the people who actually were hippies (and still are), but man, am I glad I grew out of that.

I can haz..
Jared's birthday was great! We went to El Paso and he loved his presents! I got him a Carnegie Deli Cheesecake, Madden 2008 (Playstation game), 2 boxes of balls (golf balls teehee!), a movie (Signs), and a shirt from Hollister. Also, I made him a strawberry cake with cream cheese icing on top. I spoil him.
SO.
Things I love:
-Musicals
-Tim Burton movies
-Johnny Depp
It's like someone knew this about me, and they decided to make Sweeney Todd, a musical by Tim Burton starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and John Turturo. They just released the trailer for it. I'm excited!
I also love my NFL football team. They are amazingly kicking butt this season! They are in the top 10 according to SPorts Illustrated.com!
I also love icanhascheezburger.com where you can make funny captioned pictures of your pretty kitties. Here a few I made:

I've never been a morning person..
This morning as I was getting ready for work, I heard a sound that took me back 15 years.
Two days ago I finally turned my air conditioning off and opened the windows in my condo. All three of them. We don't get much air flow, but we do get outside sound. I sure do love hearing your dog bark at 7 a.m. every morning. You know who you are! (Not Bertha!)
Anywho this morning through the window I heard that familiar lurch, screech, lurch of a school bus. I could pick that sound out from a mile away. I always knew it was the school bus, and that it was coming to take me away, away to school, and torturous learning.
See, when I was in 3rd through 5th grade, I went to a BIG Elementary School. Maybe it wasn't really that big, maybe they just didn't have enough buses. Either way, they had to do 2 rounds of buses every day. The buses went out in the morning at 6:00 to pick up students and drop them off at school, then went back out to pick up the second round of students. Then, the same thing happened in the afternoon.
I was one of the unfortunate kids that was picked up first in the morning, and dropped off last in the afternoon. These people were at school an hour before everyone else, and an hour after everyone else. *yay*.
I was picked up every morning around 6:30 a.m. Ickh. Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a morning person. This was an even worse problem back when I was a youngun. My dad would wake me up every morning and drag me out of bed and force me to eat cereal. Then, I would have to go sit on the landing to wait for the bus. Next, he would go back upstairs to drag my brothers out of bed. Unfortunately, I usually fell back asleep while waiting for the bus. I was a deep sleeper. Sometimes, I would miss the bus. This was a huge big deal and I got in trouble many times for this. See my Dad usually left for work as soon as he woke up my brothers. To take me to school would make him very late for work. I got many-a-groundings for that.
The point is that that sound still takes me back to the years of my life I've spent on a school bus. All in all I rode the bus from 1st grade until high school and then again for a semester in 10th grade before I got my liscence. I hated the bus because it stank, it was uncomfortable, and it was always early. There are hundreds of bad memories from riding the bus. I have very few good memories. And.. AND!! I was NEVER safety patrol. It was all I ever wanted in 5th grade but they never let me. I bet it was becuase I am a ginger.

I highly recommend Carolina Beach for your next work conference.
I had an awesome time at my Beach conference last week! Best work conference I've ever been to. It started Wednesday with the golf tournament. Since I'm no golfer, I was kind enough to lend my good luck and follow the guys around in my cart offering support and going to get drinks for people. I got a lot of reading done.
Then we went to the hotel where I had an awesome view from my great hotel room!
After checking in we all gathered at the dock to go on our super cool BYOB sunset boat cruise. I had the most fun here, enjoying nature and taking 100 pictures. I highly recommend doing this next time you go to the beach.
Thursday until 5 was spent "working" and listening to a lot of GIS talk. That was cool, I learned a lot. Nothing to see though. Then we played beach volleyball and I learned how bad I am at it. It's easier if you're not short I guess.
After dinner, there was a "band" that played for us and Stephen got up and sang along with them to "Fire and Rain" and "Desperado". That boy can Wail. Needs to be the next American Idol.
Late Thursday night we all got together and played some Texas Hold Em Poker. I hadn't played in a while so I was itching to put together a game. We played for pretzels and tootsie rolls, and I ended up taking out half the boys and my boss. The game ended with me and Tina (my boss's wife) splitting the pot. Girls Rule.
Friday was more classes and then the long trek home where both at dinner and lunch they screwed up my food. Why? I'm not that picky. If I ask for a pizza with no feta, why put feta on it? If I order a Build Your Own Burrito with black beans, why put refried beans in it? Sheesh.
Anywho overall I had an amazing time. I love the beach. To see all my pics go here.
Then I got home to see AppState win, and my Buccaneers win again! Yay!
