I'm in a foul mood right now for some reason. Damn headache. And I couldn't sleep last night due to nightmares. It was a really weird one but I won't go into details because it's just not worth reliving.
I already broke my New Year's Resolution about blogging 8 times a month. Stupid February being all short and stuff. Ah well I'm still trying.
I know no one watches American Idol anymore, but for those of you who do, I'm going to share my pick for the year. I don't really think this person will win, but so far he is my favorite.
Alex Lambert!
No, not Adam Lambert. I'm talking about someone with actual talent, not someone who screams! Also, I love the mullet. I mean, I think he's just growing it so people will remember him, which is fine by me.
I'd share with you a video of him performing last night, but that's a lot of work. Go google it or something.
None of the girls this year really stand out for me except that chick with the gray hair, Lilly Scott. If Alex goes and she stays, I'll vote for her.
Next year when Simon is off the show, I swear it to you I will not be watching.

I'm such a pushover.
Last year, I made a solemn vow not to watch American Idol anymore since the producers seemed to hate my favorite contestant, Jason Castro.

I swore I was only going to watch again if they allowed my friend Stephen to compete (which, he is awesome and has been shafted every year). I maintained this vow over the summer and fall and into winter. But then, the commercials started. And dammit, I'm a sucker for this stupid show. I guess I'm sucked in again. I blame DVR for making it so easy to record and skip through the crappy parts.
I do, however, wish they could leave out all the bad singers and idiots that are only on camera because the producers want to make fun of them. If they only showed the decent singers, I would like this part a lot more.
Two nights into it I have a few people who I like so far. I can't think of their names though. Maybe once Hollywood week rolls around, I'll be more apt to say who. I've never picked the winner, but I've come close with Blake Lewis (2nd place to Jordin Sparks).
Last night, Jason Castro's little brother Michael auditioned. Okay, so he wasn't great and I fully expect him to not make it to the top 36, but look how cute:

I just want to pinch his little emo cheeks! And come on, I can still call myself a Castronaut if he makes it!

The one with the ketchup.
To catch you up on some things:
A) My Gall Bladder is fine, apparently. The doctor said I probably just have an infection and I need to take Prilosec for 2 months.
B) I'm going to send the camera back and get a refund and get the camera I really wanted. Of course, it's going to take a while. I have to send it back, then it'll take 3-5 days to get the refund, then I have to order another one. :(
C) I'm never going to like basketball. Not even when I get an extra hour of lunch so we can all watch the ACC Tournament together. BORING.
D) I miss Jared.
E) This guy is hot (even though he makes funny faces):

American Idol + Beatles = NO!
I love American Idol and I love Beatles music. Last night they were combined and the Top 12 sang Beatles songs. Boo. This was a bad idea and even I knew that. If you're gonna cover a Beatles song you have to be more than just a good singer. You have to be a great singer and you have to be willing to put all of your emotions into it.
One of the most horrific things I've ever seen was Kristy Lee Cook singing the square dance version of "8 Days a Week" last night. I wanted to vomit while watching it. I really really really hated it. Really.
In case you missed it:

And if that doesn't work, it's here
I have to say though, I love me some Jason Castro, and I thought he did great last night, but he makes some funny faces on stage. Here is my favorite ever, as he hits his last note last night:

Another Nerd Factor: American Idol
Yes, I watch American Idol. Every year I say I'm not going to but every year I do anyways. And I don't even care. Other people watch Survivor, which is pure crap to me, so I'm going to watch American Idol, which is pure crap to other people. I've also got Jared watching it, only don't tell him you know that :).
I wasn't sure who to pull for going into the top 24. I try to always pull for one favorite boy and one favorite girl. For favorite girl right now I'm pulling for Jordan Borgella, the plus size model, because she's cool. Of course after the girls perform tonight I'll make an informed decision. As far as boys go, I was going to pull for David Archuletta.
David Archuletta is a 17 year old kid with an amazing talent. He's basically everyone's favorite, so he doesn't really need my vote. Although, I wouldn't be opposed to adopting him.
Then there's this Australian hottie guy who has a lot of the other votes. Nuff said.
Then there's this guy:

Jason Castro.
Before last night's boy's performances, I'd never actually heard him sing. Last night I saw this guy perform "Daydream" with a guitar and it totally rocked to me. I'd buy his album. Plus, he's kind of cute, even though I don't really like dreads.
The point is, I'm pulling for this kid (he's 20 years old) and last night I voted for him like 100 times. Really.
Go Jason! To see a video clip of his performance or to listen to the mp3, go here.

p.s. DialIdol says he's safe! Good thing I voted 100 times.
Oh, and yes, I think he looks high too.
