*Waiting a year to find out results of a job classification/salary study at your office, only to find out that you just started making the MINIMUM pay for your job, and that's not going to change any time soon.
*Figuring out that your boyfriend makes more than you and he didn't have to go to all the trouble of hunting down a job and working there for 2.5 years before making this amount.
*Figuring out that you make the second to least pay amount at your office of 50+ people.
But you know what? It's all good for now. I'm not starving. Yet.

and you had to get a degree to do your job and your boyfriend doesn't. his job sucks a lot more, though. photography's looking pretty good, huh?
:(
Maybe you should start looking for something else. You know, like something closer to Charlotte. ;)
But seriously, I'd get your resume out there at least, then if you do get a better offer you can tell your boss, "hey, I'd love to stay here, but I got an offer for X amount more per year from this other place. Match it or I'm out."
Oh yeah, one other thing I've learned over the past 6 months is that you shouldn't low ball yourself. If you go into an interview and they ask how much you want or what you made at your last position, high ball it. Who cares, right? It's not like they'll find out. You can tell them you're flexible if they aren't willing to pay you what you initially ask for.
