Amazing

What's amazing?  It's amazing how fast our bodies deteriorate. 

Last night was first night training as an Outbacker.  I have to say, I'm loving it so far.   I was supposed to just be following around my trainer all night, but I ended up handling a few tables mostly by myself (I still needed help for some things).  The point is, I picked up on it pretty quick and it rules. 

Here's the thing though, I worked for 6 hours and when I got home last night my back was KILLING me.  And then I woke up around 4 am and my legs were KILLING me.  WTF?  Am I falling apart already?  I'm 27 and I can't handle 6 hours on my feet?  I work out 4-5 times a week, I try hard to eat healthy.  What is wrong with me?  Maybe I just have to get used to it or something, but I don't remember being in this much pain after one night at Sagebrush.  Of course, Sagebrush wasn't exactly a lot of work most of the time. 

I'm sure if I went back and read my "Brush" (that's what I used to call Sagebrush) related blogs, I would find some complaining in there. 

Anywho here's to hoping I get used to it, because I have a loooong way to go before I can afford to get married. 

Finally...

After many many many weeks of not knowing where I would be working, whether I would be staying at the job I love or going to somewhere more secure, I have Finally Finally Finally been given the best oppurtunity- to stay right where I'm at!

I have seriously been toiling inside, tearing back and forth between two (sometimes 3) options of great jobs. It has been seriously scarey at times. I have annoyed everyone I know asking them about their opinions almost every day.

I'm one of those people that don't really like change, even when I'm offered more money, if you can believe that.

But finally, I can sleep a little easier, and I can appreciate my job a little more, knowing that the guy in charge fought pretty hard (even while he was in the hospital) to keep me here.

Shew... Now many I can stop being a slack ass blogger. :D

Good Times and Football.

I’ve got some good things going on right now.. despite the work issues which will all come to a head tomorrow.

Last weekend was Katie’s fabulous 2nd Annual 29th birthday party in Blowing Rock, NC. It was fabulous to be able to sit around in the mountains just having fun and not worrying about life. Check out the pictures from the photo booth her photographer friend set up.

Tomorrow (Friday) is a big day for me. I *love* the new Batman movies and (in case you live in a cave and don’t know) tomorrow The Dark Knight is coming to theaters. I’m going to take my 2 hours comp time (from counting Vehicle Occupancy Rates) and go see the matinee! Hopefully Carmen and Jon will be going with me. But if not, I have no problem going alone. I would invite Katie, but I don’t think that’s her kind of movie. :)

Then Saturday, Katie and I are going to see Andrea, my old roommate from Hickory, who is going to Georgia Tech now, but interning for the summer in Charlotte. Hopefully, we’ll have a real good girly time!

Next week, The X-Files movie comes out! I have a feeling I’ll be going to see that one on my own.. But since I haven’t watched any X-Files since the series finale premiered like 8 years ago, I am dying to see Mulder and Scully again!

The 26th is when my Durham BFF, Brad, is throwing his annual pool party for his birthday. I was going to go to Bele Chere, but then his party was scheduled for that day. That’s okay, I’m going to have a LOT of fun swimming in the pool with my buddies. And hopefully I can convince Jared to come with me.

I just found out that I’m going to get to go see the Buccaneers play the Panthers in Charlotte on December 8th! FOOTBALL!! YAY!!! I don’t know whether to wear my Bucs jersey or my Appalachian jersey! Since the App jersey is for Armanti, not Dexter Jackson, I will most likely wear my Bucs jersey (it’s for RONDE Barber).

I’m glad to have all of these fun things coming up! And FOOTBALL!!

Especially since my life may be changing a bit in the next 2 months. Maybe.

So, how do I bill time to "Filling out job applications and writing a cover letter"?

Who should be paying me to go interview in another town?

What about when I went to feed the cats on Monday during work hours?

I should really not be publishing this, but I am.

Howdy Ho Neighborinos!

Today I had to fill out my life insurance form for my job.

Let me just ask this: Who decided that only 2 people can be listed as my primary beneficiaries?

I mean really! I have 3 nieces and 4 parents. I have a boyfriend/future husband. I have a lot of close friends. Why must I chose only 2 people? Makes me feel guilty to not choose some people. I guess it will be easier once I'm married with a child of my own.

For now, I just put my two youngest nieces and then listed my third as a secondary beneficiary. Jared will make the cut once we get married, but for now, he just gets all my stuff :D.

Got a huge big thing coming up in the next few days that I can't talk about on here, but man, is it making me butterfly-tummy-alicious.

I had an awesome time at my Beach conference last week! Best work conference I've ever been to. It started Wednesday with the golf tournament. Since I'm no golfer, I was kind enough to lend my good luck and follow the guys around in my cart offering support and going to get drinks for people. I got a lot of reading done.


Then we went to the hotel where I had an awesome view from my great hotel room!


After checking in we all gathered at the dock to go on our super cool BYOB sunset boat cruise. I had the most fun here, enjoying nature and taking 100 pictures. I highly recommend doing this next time you go to the beach.





Thursday until 5 was spent "working" and listening to a lot of GIS talk. That was cool, I learned a lot. Nothing to see though. Then we played beach volleyball and I learned how bad I am at it. It's easier if you're not short I guess.



After dinner, there was a "band" that played for us and Stephen got up and sang along with them to "Fire and Rain" and "Desperado". That boy can Wail. Needs to be the next American Idol.

Late Thursday night we all got together and played some Texas Hold Em Poker. I hadn't played in a while so I was itching to put together a game. We played for pretzels and tootsie rolls, and I ended up taking out half the boys and my boss. The game ended with me and Tina (my boss's wife) splitting the pot. Girls Rule.

Friday was more classes and then the long trek home where both at dinner and lunch they screwed up my food. Why? I'm not that picky. If I ask for a pizza with no feta, why put feta on it? If I order a Build Your Own Burrito with black beans, why put refried beans in it? Sheesh.

Anywho overall I had an amazing time. I love the beach. To see all my pics go here.


Then I got home to see AppState win, and my Buccaneers win again! Yay!
