Has anyone else wondered...

Why a church affiliated school (Duke) has a mascot called the Blue Devils? I thought that was funny as Jared and I sat in Cameron Indoor Stadium last night.

We had a really good time at the Duke vs. Georgia Tech game last night. We got to Durham around 5 and walked around campus for a while. Then Brad came and picked us up and we went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill (my fave Italian!) and it was awesome. Then we went back to the game. It was my first Duke game and I have to say, it's pretty fun. The fan base is really absorbed in "school spirit". They really get into it and I love that. I can see how it would be quite intimidating for the other team. I would be intimidated. The Big House (in Michigan) is more intimidating, but Cameron is more fun.

The Duke basketball games fall below App football games for fun, but above App basketball games. I have a feeling in about 10 years App basketball games will be just as fun. The fan base isn't there right now, but it will be.

Anywho, I'm back to work now and I'm tired. Here are some pics from last night:

My dad didn't go to Duke but is a big fan. I grew up watching all the bb games. He took Stephen to a basketball game a few weeks ago at Cameron. Yeah Duke is United Methodist. Wake Forest Demon Deacons are Baptist based. There is a Catholic high school here who called themselves the Villains. I guess it shows they can be religious but have a sense of humor.
